School Cancelled for Monday, Sept. 14 Due to Hazardous Air Quality

In operating on a district-wide calendar that all students adhere to, delivering virtual classes and not in-person would push the calendar out of balance. Cancelling virtual classes also helps maintain the health and safety of many of our teachers who have chosen to deliver virtual classes from our buildings. The district is also currently exploring  options to improve the air quality inside our buildings, including the use of air scrubbers that work to reduce contaminants in indoor air. Thank you for your understanding and concern as we, together, meet these challenges head on. We will continue to monitor air quality through the Spokane Clean Air Agency and send out updates tomorrow regarding Tuesday's scheduled school day.

Please read through these important notes regarding chromebook pickup for K-5 remote learning students and grade 6-12 students on a hybrid schedule:
  • K-5 remote learning students who have not picked up their chromebook can do so on the first day of school. With the cancellation of class on Monday, the first day of school will be Tuesday at the earliest.
  • Students on the "A" hybrid schedule in grades 6-12 whose class is cancelled for Monday will receive their chromebooks on their first day of school, which will be Wednesday at the earliest.
